Frannie Moyer has been a high school English teacher since 1972, teaching first in the Boston schools, in international schools for 17 years in Costa Rica, Panama, Taiwan and finally another 17 years at Newton South High School where she was the English department chair for a number of years. She always taught Frost’s poems from ninth graders to junior honors students because they were both accessible and challenging. Now that she is retired, she has taught in the MAT program at Brandeis, volunteered to coach new teachers in the Boston schools, and worked with recent immigrants in a Boston high school. Her husband’s family has had a house in Franconia for many years, right up the hill from the Frost Place.
