The Nation as Muse: Learning from 20th-Century Polish Poets

January 29, 2022 - January 30, 2022

$150.00

The Nation as Muse: Learning from 20th-Century Polish Poets

Facilitated by Dawn Potter

In this generative writing weekend, we will focus on the work of three great 20th-century Polish poets: Czeslaw Milosz, Wislawa Szymborska, and Zbigniew Herbert. Conversation will center on how each addressed issues of national and individual identity at moments of great civic turmoil and distress. The accompanying writing prompts will link these larger discussions of identity to our own situations.

The weekend will include generous writing time, an afternoon revision workshop, and an evening poetry reading for participants.

This online weekend is open to all.

Times announced later.

Cost: $150. Class size is limited to 12 participants. Previous attendees of the Frost Place Conference on Poetry and Teaching will receive 10 continuing education credits. All reading materials will be provided.
