Work Songs: Poems of Labor and Struggle
April 24, 2021 - April 25, 2021
$150.00Facilitated by Dawn Potter
This generative writing weekend will center around poems that deal with the themes of work and struggle. As we read examples by poets such as John Clare, Claudia Rankine, and others, we will focus in particular on how sound elements within the poems enact and reinforce those themes. Linked writing prompts will give participants the opportunity to experiment with sound elements as they plumb their own thoughts about work and struggle. The weekend will include generous writing time, an afternoon revision workshop, and an evening poetry reading for participants.
This online weekend is open to all.
Times to be announced.
Cost: $150. Class size is limited to 12 participants. Previous attendees of the Frost Place Conference on Poetry and Teaching will receive 10 continuing education credits. All reading materials will be provided.
