Writing the Urban Landscape: The Poetry of New York City

Facilitated by Dawn Potter and Guest Instructor TBA

This generative weekend is the first of ongoing series that will focus on global urban centers and the poets who have captured their essence. In this session, we will explore poems set in New York City, exploring a variety of eras and perspectives. Poets under discussion will include Federico Garcia Lorca, Tommy Pico, Diana Goetsch, and others. The accompanying writing prompts will draw parallels between these poets of place and our own lives and histories.

The weekend will include generous writing time, an afternoon revision workshop, and an evening poetry reading for participants.

This online weekend is open to all.

Times announced later.

Cost: $150. Class size is limited to 12 participants. Previous attendees of the Frost Place Conference on Poetry and Teaching will receive 10 continuing education credits. All reading materials will be provided.
