Yona Harvey is the author of the poetry collection, Hemming the Water, winner of the Kate Tufts Discovery Award. Her work has been anthologized in various publications including A Poet’s Craft: A Comprehensive Guide to Making and Sharing Your Poetry and The Force of What’s Possible: Accessibility and the Avant-Garde.   Yona recently co-wrote with Ta-Nehisi Coates a Marvel origin story for World of Wakanda, a companion to Coates’ bestselling Black Panther.  Along with Roxane Gay, Yona is one of the first two black women to write for Marvel.  She is an assistant professor in the University of Pittsburgh Writing Program.
