Madeleine Holzer

Madeleine Holzer is the Educator-in-Residence at the Academy of American Poets where she writes Teach this Poem, a weekly resource for teachers, as well as other education content for Poets.org. For over twelve years, she served as Educational Development Director and Program Development Director at Lincoln Center Institute for the Arts in Education, where she wrote the Institute’s Capacities for Imaginative Learning and other conceptual documents. She holds a Doctorate in Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a Master of Arts in English with a concentration in Creative Writing from New York University. She has also been a resident at the MacDowell Colony. Her poetry and essays have been published in a number of small print journals and education books, as well as on Poets.org.
