Teacher Consultant Keith Eaton

Keith Eaton

Keith Eaton is in his fourth year as an English teacher at Mount Desert Island High School in Bar Harbor, ME. Between 2000 and 2011, he taught English, History and Psychology on the island of North Haven in Maine’s Penobscot Bay. There, he was a contributor to the island monthly North Haven News, writing an occasional article for the Working Waterfront orIsland Journal. Valuing the role of practitioner/teacher, Keith tries to continue nurturing his own writing while encouraging students to improve their craft. After completing a week-long residency on North Haven, Baron Wormser encouraged Keith to attend the Frost Place Conference on Poetry and Teaching. There, in the Franconia barn, Keith rediscovered community. For the first time in his career, he was participating in a Professional Learning Community whose vitality and relevance touched him to the core. Keith is honored to be welcomed as a teacher advisor at the Frost Place CPT. He also hopes to be a future participant as often as time will allow.
